Great helper

Anyone considering the other expensive in-ear device should get this app first to try out daf and faf assistance. Give it a test run and see if it helps before spending $4,000+ . I personally love this app, it has helped me in so many different situations.

DAF/FAF assistant review

I bought this app to improve my speech. It helps to prepare for presentations, interviews and etc. in my case, I set 280ms delay so that i can fully analize what ive said. and it helps me concentrate, eliminate other unnecessary thoughts. Im sure it can help in other cases too. weakpoints: not compatible with wireless headsets

Nice soft to overcome stuttering problems

A very useful and well-working soft to overcome stuttering problems! I would also like to mention that there is a metodics where such programs can be used not only as a patch but also as a treatment. FAF could force a person to modify the frequency structure of the voice and develop an artist-like voice which would be closing the speech cycle even without FAF programs.

Overpriced

App does DAF and FAF ok. There is audio disturbance with the Apple ear bud. 49.99 is too much to pay for this app.

Worth the money, but...

Great app... several comments to reach 5 stars: -distortion frequently occurs.. usually, disconnecting/reconnecting the headphones resolves it, but it can be annoying -distortion sometimes kicks in when switching the daf/faf settings in "live" mode -the sound quality *seems* to degrade over time Some ideas for improvement: -Fix the issues above. -Identify a solid bluetooth (discrete) headset to recommend as a companion to this device. This could prove to be a realistic way to make this approach compete with some of the RIDICULOUSLY expensive alternatives. -Design a mode to randomly change the daf/faf settings to prevent the often discussed issue of device acclimation. Theis would be difficult to do in a hardware daf/faf device, but could be easily implemented in a software approach such as this. Overall... great work... thanks for putting a daf/faf in the hands of people who dont have $5000 burning a hole in their pockets :) Excellent concept, nice implementation.

Very helpful for stutterers

My son just started using this app on the recommendation by his speech therapist at his junior high school. The very first time he used it he went from profound stuttering to complete coherence with no stuttering at all! I was amazed. His therapist wants him to use it 15-20 minutes a day like when he comes home and tells me about his day or when he needs help with homework. Ive also started having him use it when he needs to talk to me and hes stuttering and/or stammering. You also need to get earphones with a microphone which I found at the Apple store for $29. Well worth the price for the app and the earphones. This app is giving my son confidence that he can overcome his stuttering.

Review DAF Assistant - v1.3

This is a great tool for enhancing fluency and it has a very nice interface. Works great on the iPod Touch 2nd Gen with a wired headset/microphone ... I have NOT tried the new Bluetooth headset/microphone option yet. Daily AM practice with this tool (DAF 120) greatly increases my fluency and my "ease" (less struggling) when speaking throughout the entire day ... the carry-over effect from practicing with a DAF device is REAL. Often when making cellular calls or landline calls, I use the DAF Assistant simultaneously by having the phone at 1 ear and a single headset plug from my iPod Touch at the other ear ... phone conversation fluency is greatly improved by this "shared" technique. Thanks ... Charles PS As stated in the description, DAF Assistant can NOT be used while making calls on the iPhone.

As is

It does what it says, pretty much what speecheasy claims to do but at a fraction of the cost. I havent tried the bluetooth headset yet though.

Bluetooth

This app is great for stutterers but if you do not have an iPhone dont bother getting a Bluetooth it wont recognize the microphone on an itouch... But other than that it works extremely well to help me with my stuttering problem of 11 years... My mom was amazed

Works well!

It think its great and very cheap when compared to most DAF devices. However, I think the quality of the frequency shift could improve; my voice sounds a little distorted. Great app though! Cant wait to use it with some clients!

Doesnt load

I purchased this App yesturday. I wasnt too sure if I should, but I did anyway. My son really needed something to help him and I thought this would help. I wont know if it works, because the App doesnt even load.Shame.. My money needs to be credited back to my card or App fixed.Really?? You have the nerve to raise the price and this doesnt even load!!! give me my money back

Great

This is a great app for stutterers like me. If you practice talking at home with this app for a few weeks, it really helps your speech.

good, but...

would be nice to have it run in the background so you can have it on when you go other places on the phone/iPod. if that it will b 5 stars

Almost Perfect

Sure as heck beats spending $5,000 on a "real" one! Really does work! Takes a little getting used to hearing the delay while you talk but it works like a charm. Add multitasking and the ability to use it while on the phone and its a definite 5 stars.

Move Over SpeechEasy!

The application worked for me immediately and I couldnt be more pleased! It is a cinch to use and you can easily change the settings to suit your unique needs. The only downside is that it also picks up every other noise in the room, but that would be the case for the SpeechEasy, as well, except youd be paying thousands of dollars for that device. My only advice is to make sure you take it out before you laugh at something you find funny. Hearing a loud and immediate high pitched laughter in your own ear is quite disturbing! :) GREAT PRICE, GREAT APPLICATION, EASY 5 STARS!!

Phone

This app works great. I use a similar machine in my speech class and I dont ever stutter when I do. But I would like to see it work while on the phone

Not bad

Good app but it really needs to work in the background. Would be great if it would operate during a phone call.

Great for people like me who stutter!

I think this app is very useful. As a person who stutters, I use this to help my fluency. It is not 100% effective (of course) but sure beats $4000 for a SpeechEasy device. I researched and a delay of 100 and a frequency of -1 is optimal for when Im on the phone. As a recruiter I use one earpiece and mic while I use my office phone and it significantly reduces my blocks (except for first of sentences etc). I would recommend this to anyone who stutters as another fluency tool! The only way it could be improved is if it could be used simultaneously with a cell phone call. I mainly use it when making calls on a landline etc. The improvements such as auto mute have been great!!

Wow

The sound quality was great before the update through the blue tooth now it sound like Im under water while Im on blue tooth. Please fix the blue tooth problem.
